    Cow boy and Cow girl....

I think my grandpa is the happiest man on earth.
Grandpa has recently been promoted to GREAT Grandpa.
He now has 2 great grandchildren. A Boy named Jordan and a Girl name Isabelle.
They're not twins though. Just a few weeks apart.

We celebrated Wheijie's birthday today and 27 days old Jordan's 1 month.
Mans!!! He is HAIRY.... Like me. muahahhahaah......
and he's so handsome. Carried Baby Jordan today.
My my... he's so fragile. I really can't wait for him to grow up.

Haven't have the chance to carry Isabelle yet. She is 4.3kg or thereof.
close to a pack of 5kg rice. my.. heavy heavy.
Praying hard now for baby Jordan and Isabelle to grow up healthily.

Waiting patiently for CNY 2010 now. Isabelle and Jordan will be about 7-8 months old.
They will then be more manageable. ahahahahahaha...
New borns are really so fragile. I really am afraid to handle.
Maybe I should be posted to N1 instead to gain more experience?
Nah.... I still love the 4-9 years (DL).
Kids are so so cute and are my FAV!
They do have this child-like faith and innocence that are simply indescribable.
Can't wait to squeese my little niece and nephew when they're a little bigger.
    hehehehehehe........

    A coincidence?

I received an sms from Dene that her grandpa has passed away.
I was in a state of disbelief yet upset as I was reminded of my grandma n godpa.
The section was there to support her on the 2nd night.
My cell went down again on the last night (Mon,22/06) to accompany her.
and... to my suprise, I saw my grandaunt at the wake too.
Dene's grandparents were my grandaunt's old neighbours for 20 over years.
    I didn't know that!!!
On Tuesday, I received an SMS from my aunt.
She said that my uncle knows Dene's uncle.
It turns out that they were colleagues at work.
and... I know Dene. So it was 3 generations of friendship.
    How interesting!!!
It is really nice to trace things coz you will never know what you will find.
    I'm amazed!!

    Your Reaction Makes a Difference

I was walking home from the MRT when I witness this scene.
A husband passed a bag with a bowl of bean curd in it to his wife while he tops up his ez-link card. In the cause of it, his wife dropped it by accident. As a result, the scolding begins. He scolded her for being careless from the ez-link top up machine all the way to the POSB ATM machine.

The human nature within will definately think of all ways to stand up for oneself, so the wife tried to explain but the husband did not want to listen and continued scolding. The wife ended up walking away feeling annoyed and upset.

As i witness this unhappy incident, this came into my mind.

"How much can a bean curd cost compared to a relationship turned sour?"

Imagine with me this, if the husband consoled her instead of scolding her, wouldn't things turn out differently? The wife would probably be more careful the next time and the husband will probably comfort her so as to ease the bad feeling within her. Wouldn't that be a better way out?

When we are placed in situations that is not to our advantage, we simply jump into the band wagon and react angrily. Why not pause for a moment and think before reacting? I know that it is often easy to say and hard to carry out. It takes a conscience effort to react in a cool manner when things happened. I admit that I am guilty of letting anger take hold of me. I must now constantly remind myself of my reaction as I am beginning to see things from another perspective. Our reaction does make a difference.

    Malacca 13-14 June 2009 (Day 2)

We checked out of Ringo's Foyer this morning and headed to Chung Wah for the FAMOUS MUST TRY Chicken Rice Ball. This is the real authentic one. The other is opened by his protege. Not too sure if there were any feud between the master and his protege as everyone seems to be siding the master and giving it thumbs up. Thank God we didn't have to wait long before we found a seat. It was a long Q after us. *phew*

We also tried the FAMOUS Portugese Egg Tart. GUESS WHAT?? We bought a piece to try and wanted to buy some on our way back to Singapore but when we went back to the shop... It was ALL sold out mans! GOSH!!!!!!!!!!! What a disappointment.

Had a yummy bowl of chendol too.. Really the old fashion style. It taste really good mans for a hot weather like this. REFRESHING!!

An overall satisified trip. I think we ate 3-4 days worth of food in these 2 days?
ahahahah...good to travel over the weekends for a short trip.
    Really a great experience.

    Malacca 13-14 June 2009 (Day 1)

I haven't been to Malacca and this is my first.
    Been hearing all about it.
Portugese Egg tart. Baba Nonya. Stadthuys Square. Jonker Street. Fort A Famosa.
We were suppose to set off 9am but had met with some delays.
Spent nearly 2 hours clearing the customs. Super long Jam on a late Saturday morning.
Our first Stop. Ringo's Foyer - A backpackers Inn.
We were greeted by our friendly host - Howard and checked in to our room.

Super duper Hungry as some of us has skipped breakfast and lunch due to the bad jam, we headed straight to Capitol Satay.

It's basically steamboat in Satay Sauce.
Everyone said it is a MUST TRY when you come to Malacca.
So there we were queuing up for it hoping to anticipate something good.
Well, it's not that fantastic to go WAHHH WAHHH about but good enough to fill my hungry stomach.
One downside is that you can't really see if your food is cooked because it's all drowned in satay sauce. So you just got to use your own gut feel and judgement to determine how cooked it is.

ahahaha.. i went to Malaysia with 7 Ringgit. Thanks to Dene and Roger for paying the meals and all if not, I will probably have to stay behind to wash the dishes. It's shopping time for us thereafter. Changed some money and felt a sense of peace.haahahahhahaaah..... can't do much with RM 7.00 mans!

Shopped at PDI and found nothing. sigh. Strangly, the design that we saw in December 08 - January 2009 was still there. It's been 6 months and they have not changed some of their designs!! After shopping for a while, we were tired.
So we headed to NEWTON - Culture Food Village.

We had chee chong fun, stingray in portugese style, fried noodles, wan ton noodles, steamed chicken rice, 10 sticks of satay and Laksa.

It's Jonker Street for us thereafter. Walked through the night market that is filled with stuff from Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. hahahahahaahahahaha...
So it's only 1 tee-shirt for me for this entire trip. *bleahs*
Brian said we walked about 8km today. ahahahah...
Anyways, enroute to our room, we da bao-ed orh lua and wan tan mee and sat at the roof top of our backpackers inn to eat. We also fed the mosquitoes there too.
..... and i electrocuted a number of them. Mans!!!!

Oh yah... we waited super duper long for the orh lua mans!!! We waited for the 4th round before it's ours. The orh lua seriously look like carrot cake can? Hardly any orh inside too. RM 5 though with a generous portion of all the others. =)

    la forketta @ Dempsey Hill

Sooling was suppose to pick both Kelly and I up but couldn't due to held up at work.
So Kelly and I had to make our own arrangements to Dempsey Hill ourselves.
Can you imagine walking up that LOOOONNNNGGGGG SLOPE????
So I met Kelly at Orchard MRT to take a cab.
10 buckaroos... which we obviously failed to claim from our dear friend.
    hahahaahah... lesson learnt...
Never to meet at Dempsey if no one is fetching you.

so we all met at Dempsey Hill for our gathering
Sooling and I couldn't find a time to buy kelly's present so we decided give her a treat instead.
Angel's Share Vs la forketta was a real tough choice.
Maybe we should have gone to Angel's share for buffet instead.
Anyhow we settled for Italian. Pretty much a disappointment.
Pasta was under cooked but the pizza was simply awesome.

It's been close to 7 years of friendship. How time flies.
And we still remember each other's birthday.
    Happy Belated Birthday Kelly!
